Amazon driver Naeema M. heard a kitten crying beneath a parked car in Queens and brought the stray home with help from her daughter, Marlow. Named Galaxy, he had a swollen, protruding left eye; ASPCA veterinarians determined it could not be saved and removed it.
Naeema and Marlow noticed the injury only after bringing Galaxy home. The ASPCA said the eye loss was likely due to an infection that had gone untreated. The clinic also offered to neuter him; Galaxy is now healthy, active and adjusted to having one eye.
The ASPCA said support from The Alex and Elisabeth Lewyt Charitable Trust and other donors helped fund the Brooklyn Community Veterinary Clinic that treated Galaxy.
