Qualcomm said Sept. 24 it renewed its global patent-licensing agreement with Apple. The new deal takes effect April 1, 2027, when the existing agreement expires; the companies disclosed neither the financial terms nor the agreement’s duration.
The deal covers patent licensing, separate from chip sales. The previous six-year agreement began in April 2019 and was later extended through March 2027. Apple has begun shipping its own modems, while Qualcomm chips remain in some iPhone models, the article says.
