Lockheed Martin received its first shipment of Patriot PAC-3 MSE interceptor housing components from GM Defense on Aug. 28, 22 days after their pact. The firms disclosed no volumes or contract value, so the delivery does not establish GM can scale production.
Lockheed said the components traditionally take months or years to produce. A U.S. Army agreement worth up to $58.6 billion covers PAC-3 MSE production from fiscal 2026 through 2032 and supports Lockheed’s goal of making 2,000 interceptors a year.
Neither company disclosed expected component volumes or potential GM revenue, leaving the partnership’s scale and financial impact unclear. Lockheed plans to invest $8 billion to $9 billion through 2030, modernize more than 20 facilities and add thousands of workers as it expands its munitions network.
