Qantas will put tickets for its nonstop Sydney–New York flight on sale in August 2027, ahead of a mid-2028 launch. The 18-hour route will cover 9,942 miles (16,000 km), cutting just over three hours off Qantas’s current Sydney–New York trip via Los Angeles.
Qantas’s 22-hour Project Sunrise service between Sydney and London is scheduled to begin in October 2027, with tickets set to go on sale in February 2027. Fares for either new route have not been announced: the airline’s international chief previously said nonstop tickets would cost about 20% more than current stopover flights, while TheStreet estimated starting fares could be about US$2,000.
