Hollywood publicist Dick Guttman, who represented Barbra Streisand, Clint Eastwood and Jay Leno, died Sept. 19 in Los Altos, California, at 93. Over decades in the industry, he also represented Paul Newman and Audrey Hepburn.
Guttman worked at Rogers & Cowan for more than a decade, then partnered with Jerry Pam to form Guttman & Pam in 1971 and later ran Guttman Associates. He once estimated he had represented about 700 clients, including 200 he considered legends. He also worked as a screenwriter on seven films, including 1963’s “Back Door to Hell.”
Guttman Associates continues to represent Hollywood talent, with his colleagues Susan Madore and Rona Menashe overseeing the firm.
