During U.N. General Assembly week, Prince Harry attended a National Geographic event celebrating Botswana in New York on Sept. 23, then appeared at a Diana Award panel on youth mental health at work the next day; an attendee said he discussed support for young people.
At the National Geographic & De Beers Okavango Eternal event, Harry appeared with Botswana President Duma Boko and National Geographic explorer Steve Boyes. Boko praised Harry’s work in the country, calling him “almost a citizen of Botswana, particularly the Okavango Delta.”
Earlier Wednesday at the Skift Global Forum, Harry said he first traveled to Botswana after his mother’s death and described the Okavango as a living system sustaining wildlife, communities and livelihoods. At the Clinton Global Initiative, he discussed the dangers of social media and the growing threat posed by AI.
