One preview writer predicts a 35-17 Lions win over the injury-hit Jets at Ford Field on Sunday. Detroit gets starting linemen Christian Mahogany and Blake Miller back; New York has ruled out tight end Mason Taylor and safety Minkah Fitzpatrick.
New York also ruled out backup linebacker Kiko Mauigoa. Linebacker Joseph Ossai is questionable, receiver Adonai Mitchell's status is unclear, and rookie edge rusher David Bailey is good to go after limited practice; he has a sack in each of his first two games. Detroit ruled out safety Thomas Harper after placing Avonte Maddox on season-ending injured reserve, leaving Chuck Clark and Christian Izien as its only available safeties; newly signed Bishop Fitzgerald could play.
Backup tackle Larry Borom allowed 11 pressures and two sacks to Jared Goff last week while filling in for Miller. Ben Bartch, who filled in for Mahogany, is out with a foot injury, and Detroit promoted lineman Seth McLaughlin to the active roster.
