A Cygnal poll conducted Sept. 15–18 found Democrats leading 57% to 40% on the generic congressional ballot among men ages 18–30 who said they were most determined to vote. Inflation and living costs topped their concerns.
Across the full sample, including respondents least likely to vote, Democrats led 44% to 41%. Inflation and cost of living were the top vote issue for 29%, while 14% named housing costs. The poll surveyed 800 registered men ages 18–30; its margin of error was plus or minus 3.46 percentage points.
Trump narrowly carried young men in 2024, but 38% viewed him favorably and 55% unfavorably in this poll. Respondents were split over whether the country’s rules work for young men: 43% said they were set up against them and 47% said they worked in their favor. Young men are a small share of the electorate and are less likely to vote than women their age or older voters.
