Manny Machado hit a two-run homer and drove in three runs as San Diego beat Los Angeles 5-1 Wednesday, snapping the Dodgers’ 11-game home winning streak. Yoshinobu Yamamoto gave up four runs, two earned, in six innings; LA scored once.
The loss leaves Los Angeles two games behind Milwaukee for the National League’s top seed but four games ahead of Atlanta for a first-round bye; the Dodgers’ magic number to clinch the bye remains one. Yamamoto finished the regular season with a 2.53 ERA and 182 strikeouts in 185 innings.
Los Angeles hosts San Diego in its final regular-season home game Thursday at 7:10 p.m. PT on SportsNet LA, then travels to San Francisco for its final series. Tyler Glasnow faces Nick Pivetta.
