After Minnesota beat Washington 27-24 Sunday, coach P.J. Fleck wiped blood from linebacker Maverick Baranowski's mouth and smeared it on his cheeks. Baranowski took a cleat to the face on the final play; video of the moment went viral on social media.
Minnesota improved to 3-1 after fending off a late Washington rally. Quarterback Drake Lindsey completed 21 of 29 passes for 204 yards, three touchdowns and one interception.
Minnesota is scheduled to host No. 18 Michigan on Oct. 3, with kickoff set for noon ET.
