Oskar Flodstrom, 23, turned a $50 Facebook Marketplace experiment into a $225 pill-bottle table that generated $150,000 in gross sales in two weeks. In his interview, he said hundreds of orders were stuck in customs, with about $80,000 of Shopify funds unavailable.
The customizable table used curved acrylic from Facebook Marketplace, orange vinyl, a foam-and-plaster lid and a printed prescription-style label. U.S. manufacturers quoted $400 per unit plus shipping, but NO LOGO, which helps artists bring designs to market, offered to produce a sample for free. Business Insider’s review put gross sales at $253,000 over 90 days.
A video of a brick mirror Flodstrom made for his room drew about 3 million Instagram views; the pill-bottle table later drew tens of millions. He studied short video hooks and engagement signals such as retention, comments, shares and saves. His business still relies almost entirely on Instagram, and he is working to diversify onto YouTube.
