Oregon beat USC 41-27 after USC linebacker Desman Stephens II was ejected for targeting a sliding Dante Moore. The Oregon quarterback was left motionless, placed on a stretcher and taken to an ambulance; NBC reported he was taken to LA General Medical Center for evaluation.
The hit came with about 10 minutes left in the second quarter, after Moore scrambled 10 yards to USC's 13-yard line and began sliding. Riley said he hoped Moore was OK and wished him a speedy recovery. Stephens appeared to celebrate with teammates on the sideline, though Riley said he did not see him do so. Oregon coach Dan Lanning called the hit a disgusting play and said Riley had quickly voiced concern for Oregon's players.
