Minnesota beat Washington 27-24 for its first road win since 2024, starting Big Ten play 1-0 as the Huskies rallied from 21-7 down. Drake Lindsey threw for 204 yards and three touchdowns; the Gophers had seven sacks and held Washington to 40 rushing yards.
Minnesota secured an onside kick late but did not earn a first down. Tom Weston’s punt pinned Washington at its 2-yard line with three seconds left, and the Gophers’ defense prevented a 98-yard touchdown.
Minnesota next hosts Michigan in Big Noon Saturday, with the Little Brown Jug at stake.
