Samsung’s Android 17-based One UI 9 update has started appearing on U.S. Galaxy S26, S26+ and S26 Ultra phones, according to T-Mobile users on Reddit, who reported downloads of about 4GB. Unlocked models do not appear to have it yet.
Samsung released the stable update in South Korea on Sept. 16, but its planned Sept. 21 wave passed and a later Sept. 28 date was replaced in its Thailand newsroom with a promise of release “within September.” Samsung has not publicly explained the delays.
Stable builds have also been spotted for the Galaxy S25 and S24 and for the A57, A37, A56, A36, A55, A35 and A34, but those sightings do not confirm a rollout. One UI 9 has 11 confirmed features, including My FanCam and expanded Scam Detection; the article says it is unclear which features each phone will receive. It says other regions’ S26 models and the S25, Z Fold 7 and Z Flip 7 should get the update by the end of September if Samsung sticks to its latest wording; another delay could push that to October.
