Ohio State receiver Jeremiah Smith caught touchdown passes on the Buckeyes’ first two possessions against Illinois, including a 72-yard strike from Julian Sayin. His four catches for 123 yards so far took his career receiving total beyond 3,000 yards.
Smith’s first touchdown was a 7-yard catch on Ohio State’s opening series. After not scoring against Kent State last week, the two scores brought him to five touchdowns this season.
Smith broke Ohio State’s career receiving-yardage record last week with an 85-yard performance, reaching 2,958 yards and passing Michael Jenkins’ previous mark of 2,898.
