Michigan comes off a win over UTEP in which it scored 38 unanswered points, totaled a season-high 431 yards and converted nine of 13 third downs. Iowa shut out Northern Illinois and Northern Iowa before edging Iowa State 16-13. Michigan put the ball on the ground six times in its first three games, a ball-security issue coach Kyle Whittingham has emphasized.
