Nikon has announced the Z5 II C, a smaller, lighter full-frame camera without a viewfinder, starting at £1,349 / AU$2,399 and due on sale in mid-October. It shares the Z5 II’s 24.5MP sensor but has one card slot instead of two; US pricing is unannounced.
The camera’s in-body image stabilization is rated up to 7.5EV, and its autofocus can detect subjects as small as 3% of the frame and operate in light down to -10EV. It adds fish detection, shoots up to 14fps with the mechanical shutter or 30fps electronically, and records internal 12-bit N-RAW video in 4K.
The Z5 II C has a magnesium-alloy body with dust- and moisture-resistant sealing. Nikon puts its weight at around 600g with battery and card, compared with around 700g for the Z5 II. It will come in black or black/silver, with several lens-kit options.
