NHL teams placed 18 players on waivers Saturday as they made final roster moves and worked to get their salary caps in order ahead of the regular season. The New York Islanders accounted for five of the moves, the most of any team.
The players were Lukas Reichel and Alex Steeves (Boston Bruins); Miles Wood (Columbus Blue Jackets); Alexander Nylander (Calgary Flames); Remi Poirier (Dallas Stars); Tobias Bjornfot, Angus Crookshank and Casey Fitzgerald (Florida Panthers); Scott Perunovich and Taylor Ward (Los Angeles Kings); Justin Barron (Nashville Predators); Mitchell Chaffee, Pierre Engvall, Liam Foudy, Daylan Kuefler and Matt Luff (New York Islanders); Caleb Jones (Pittsburgh Penguins); and Justin Holl (Washington Capitals).
