ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that the NFL fined San Francisco 49ers fullback Kyle Juszczyk $14,926 for miming a beer chug after a play against Miami in Week 2; the league called the gesture an “offensive demonstration” that could be considered in poor taste.
Schefter said Juszczyk had celebrated touchdowns and first downs with his chugging-style gesture throughout his career without a previous fine. Juszczyk told him, “And I don’t even drink beer!”
The NFL says fines go to the Professional Athletes Foundation to support Legends in need and the NFL Foundation for athlete health, safety and wellness, including youth football and the communities that support the game.
