Jalen Brunson will host “Saturday Night Live” this Saturday as the show opens its 52nd season. NBC released a promo showing the Knicks guard with cast member Ben Marshall trying to use New York City’s key to get into Studio 8H.
The story notes that Brunson helped lead the Knicks to an NBA championship in June, described as the team’s first since 1953. He will be the fifth basketball player to host “SNL,” after Bill Russell, Michael Jordan, Charles Barkley and LeBron James.
Before Brunson, 34 athletes had hosted the show. Fran Tarkenton was the first, in 1977, and Travis Kelce was the most recent, in 2023.
