Josh Naylor drove in Randy Arozarena with a single in the 10th as Seattle beat Houston 6-5, keeping its slim playoff hopes alive. The Mariners remain four games back with four to play; the Astros are tied with Texas atop the AL West.
Seattle trailed 5-4 after Yordan Alvarez scored on Isaac Paredes' triple in the top of the 10th. In the bottom half, Julio Rodríguez drew a bases-loaded walk against Astros closer Josh Hader to tie the game before Naylor's hit brought home Arozarena.
Houston and Texas remained tied atop the AL West, with the Astros holding the head-to-head tiebreaker if they finish with the same record. Seattle opens a season-ending four-game series against the Angels Thursday; Houston starts a four-game set at the Athletics.
