Navy cites verification as Iran war wounded tally rises by 37

The Defense Casualty Analysis System’s Iran-war tally rose by 37 wounded U.S. troops earlier this week: 29 sailors and eight Marines. The Navy said it had fully validated the count and attributed the increase to verification protocols; all 29 sailors have returned to active duty.

The Washington Post reported the increase; the Pentagon made no accompanying announcement or explanation. DCAS is a public database tracking U.S. troops wounded and killed in military operations. The Navy said the sailors’ identities would not be made public.
