White House senior counselor Peter Navarro urged Trump officials to consider ending Fox News appearances, accusing the network of undermining the president. He said Fox’s conservative image gives it credibility with Republicans and makes it dangerous to MAGA.
Navarro made the remarks on Real America’s Voice’s “War Room”; they follow weeks of public criticism of Fox, particularly after its abrupt separation from longtime anchor Maria Bartiromo, which Fox called a “business decision.” On Sept. 9, he told Newsmax not to assume Fox was friendly to Trump or MAGA, citing Bartiromo, Tucker Carlson and the late Lou Dobbs as examples.
Navarro said Fox gives conservative viewers coverage of some culture-war issues but restricts discussion of topics he considers central to Trump’s agenda. He called that treatment censorship and accused the network of retaliating against Bartiromo. Fox has not said her departure was connected to her reported sharing of internal Fox communications or to Navarro’s subsequent decision to pass information to the White House.
