Nakobe Dean has made an immediate impact for Las Vegas, totaling 15 tackles, 1.5 sacks, four pressures and two forced fumbles in two games. In the Raiders’ 17-14 Week 2 win over the Chargers, his third-down run stop forced a punt.
Dean signed a three-year, $36 million deal with Las Vegas after four seasons in Philadelphia. Across 47 Eagles games, including 27 starts, he recorded 226 tackles, 7.5 sacks, 19 tackles for loss and three forced fumbles; injuries limited his availability at times.
Safety Jeremy Chinn called Dean the “glue” of the defense, saying a linebacker in the middle can affect both the front and back ends. Las Vegas also added Quay Walker after relying heavily on short-term veteran options at linebacker last season.
