At 98, Paul Little received an honorary diploma from Iowa’s Dallas Center High School more than 80 years after leaving as a junior to support his family. Officials surprised him at his nursing home on Sept. 17; his $50,000 gift funds annual scholarships for seniors.
Little farmed for years in nearby Guthrie County and, with his late wife Eleanor, supported local students and education initiatives. His funding has helped more than 150 students graduate; the district said the honorary diploma recognized his generosity and nearly eight decades of connection to the community.
