Moon Dancer Vineyards & Winery files for Chapter 11 after closure

Pennsylvania’s Moon Dancer Vineyards & Winery filed for Chapter 11 on Sept. 11, 2026, to restructure debts about 10 months after its winery and tasting room closed, following the state Supreme Court’s rejection of the owner’s final appeal to keep operating.

The filing lists $100,000–$500,000 in assets and $1 million–$10 million in debts. Its largest unsecured creditors include M&T Bank, owed more than $757,000; the U.S. Small Business Administration, more than $500,000; McNeese Wallace & Nurick LLC, $450,000; and First Data–Clover Capital, $30,000.

Neighbors sued in 2018, alleging deed language barred the winery’s tasting room, pizzeria, wedding venue and music-festival site. Moon Dancer argued its operation was permitted agricultural use. The Pennsylvania Supreme Court denied the owner’s final appeal on Nov. 18, 2025, and the winery closed permanently the next day.
