Minneola residents say Citrus Grove Road work has shaken their homes for at least four months. Lake County measured 0.1 inches per second, below Florida DOT’s 0.5-inch-per-second limit, and does not expect further monitoring.
Jairo Rodriguez said a crack runs from his home’s foundation to the first floor and suspects the project caused it. Lake County said Rodriguez’s outreach was its first formal vibration complaint. Rodriguez said the one-day test produced much weaker shaking than he and other residents usually experience, for about 20 to 30 minutes. The county said its rolling tests were designed to generate the strongest vibrations residents should encounter during the work and that monitoring covered several pieces of equipment.
Lake County said the reading did not warrant corrective action. The project is expected to last until about mid-summer 2027. The county asks residents who continue to feel shaking or notice new damage to file formal complaints or damage reports by emailing CR_Engineering@lakecountyfl.gov or calling 352-253-6000.
