Former Meta CTO Mike Schroepfer, now an adviser, says he would “never bet against” Meta and describes Mark Zuckerberg as “all in” on his AI vision. His remarks come as Meta’s Muse agent reaches Apple’s App Store top spot and the company unveils new AI-linked devices.
Schroepfer said he does not think a future where eight billion people each have an AI working for them around the clock is decades away, and sees Zuckerberg at the forefront of that vision.
At Meta Connect, Meta introduced Muse Charm, a standalone pocket device for voice interaction with its Muse agent, and Meta VR Glasses, a 100-gram, $1,299 product with 5K micro-OLED displays and eye and hand tracking. It also debuted third-generation Ray-Ban Meta glasses starting at $249 and camera-free Ray-Ban Meta Audio glasses for open-ear listening and AI voice interaction. Meta stock rose about 20% over the prior two weeks. Evercore ISI analyst Mark Mahaney said the announcements signaled a shift toward agentic AI, wearables, commerce integrations and privacy infrastructure, alongside a more selective approach to traditional Metaverse and VR products.
