After about 40 hours of pre-release play, a Forbes writer shares 10 tips for Control Resonant beginners: get the Reach grappling ability early, upgrade weapons and finishers to raise power, and explore optional zones for useful skills.
Reach helps players climb to higher parts of the map and access otherwise unreachable areas. The writer says it is available near a map fault as soon as the Evacuation Zone can be unlocked, before the story directs players to find it. Breaks in map route lines mark blocked passages; unbroken lines can lead around obstacles. The optional Park zone has a boss that awards a poison skill, while Inferno comes from a boss in Central.
The writer says the poison skill can affect almost any enemy, including bosses, and can be paired with fire for an explosion. Airborne enemies return more power when hit. Side missions and map events are recommended for zone XP and skill points; events provide more XP than simply killing enemies and reset as players rank up.
