Michigan outgained Iowa 429-285, but had two red-zone turnovers, eight penalties for 75 yards and allowed Braeden Jackson to return a kickoff 99 yards for a touchdown. PFF graded Michigan's offense 78.7 and defense 78.8; its passing grade was 84.3, and its run-defense grade was 85.3.
After Michigan failed to make a first down while trying to run down the clock, Iowa drove 91 yards in 11 plays for the winning score. Bryce Underwood passed for 276 yards and two touchdowns, both to JJ Buchanan, but threw an interception at Iowa's 2-yard line.
