Matternet CEO Andreas Raptopoulos said suburbs are the initial sweet spot for drone deliveries of food, retail goods and pharmaceuticals. He said the company flies medicine and diagnostics between two campuses in central London.
Raptopoulos said a new US regulatory framework could let drone delivery scale and reach most Americans. He said cars currently make more than 10 million such deliveries a day, while he expects urban drone services to handle high-value business-to-business deliveries.
