Action Network’s Matt Trollo lists five MLB bets for Saturday, Sept. 26: Blue Jays -147 (0.74u) and their team total over 4.5 runs (+112, 0.5u); Royals +117 (0.5u); Rockies–White Sox over 8 (-115, 1.15u); Ryan Johnson over 4.5 strikeouts (+114, 0.5u).
Trollo gave Toronto bet-to marks of -160 on the moneyline and +105 on its team total, and said he would play Kansas City down to even money. He saw Toronto with projected edges over Cincinnati in starting pitching, bullpen, offense and defense, but estimated Trey Yesavage might pitch only three to four innings after returning from the injured list. For Royals-Guardians, he noted about a 50% chance of rain and Michael Wacha’s three previous starts against Cleveland, each at least seven innings with no more than two runs.
Trollo set the Rockies–White Sox over at up to 8.5, citing José Quintana’s indicators and the White Sox lineup’s success against left-handed pitching; he expected both teams to contribute to the scoring. He would play Ryan Johnson over 4.5 strikeouts down to +100, noting 24 strikeouts among his last 94 batters, at least five in each of four starts, and park and umpire factors he estimated would raise Johnson’s expected strikeout rate to nearly 25%.
