Orlando police say Juby Manuel Vera was arrested at a bus stop after allegedly pointing a rifle at a customer and clerk at a Sedano’s supermarket on Sept. 10 to demand a watch. He was charged with three firearm-related offenses.
Police list the charges as two counts of aggravated assault with a firearm and one count of attempted robbery with a firearm. An arrest affidavit cited by WESH 2 says Vera told officers he believed the watch had been stolen from his residence and repeatedly said the rifle was fake. Police said those involved believed it was real; a witness told WESH 2 that officers said the rifle contained two rounds.
WESH 2 reported Vera was booked into Orange County Jail on a $10,000 bond and had retained a private attorney. The outlet said there was no word on a court date or exactly when he was released.
