Lowe’s now offers same-day drone delivery through DoorDash from its Matthews, N.C., store, making it the first major U.S. home-improvement retailer to launch the service. The company says eligible items weighing up to 2.5 pounds can arrive in as little as 20 minutes.
The service covers smaller products such as hand tools, paint products, tape and cleaners.
Walmart says it has completed more than one million drone deliveries since launching in northern Arkansas in 2021, and has expanded the service to Georgia, North Carolina and Texas. Amazon launched Prime Air in California in 2022 and says it has expanded the program to seven states.
