Investor Louis Navellier says fears that AI could take over the world are exaggerated and expects development to keep moving quickly, citing order backlogs projected through 2032. He highlights Ciena and Coherent as beneficiaries of AI growth.

At an investor forum on Sept. 16, Ciena said it expects revenue to grow at about a 30% compound annual rate through 2029, with operating margins of 32%–35%. Navellier rates it A and calls it an aggressive buy below $465.

Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei called for slowing advanced-model development to allow more safety testing, and OpenAI’s Sam Altman echoed the urgency; NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang said safety matters but he does not expect self-improving AI to take over. Navellier also highlights Coherent, an optical-technology supplier for data centers: it launched PhotonLink and expanded its Pluggable Optical Line Systems. He rates it B and says to buy only below $299.
