The Los Angeles Queens won the inaugural Women’s Professional Baseball League title, taking the series 3-2 over the San Francisco Firebells. After falling behind 2-0, San Francisco forced a deciding game, but Ayami Sato held the Firebells to five hits over seven innings.
The Firebells had finished first in the league during its inaugural season. Starter Jill Albayati worked 4⅔ innings, allowing one hit and two unearned runs while striking out four and walking three.
