LongHorn Steakhouse's comparable sales rose 6.8% in Darden's fiscal first quarter, versus 1% at Olive Garden and 3.2% companywide. KPMG's summer 2026 survey found 67% of Americans ate at home more often; 76% of that group blamed budget constraints.

Darden's total revenue rose 5.1% year over year to $3.2 billion. LongHorn's quarterly revenue increased to $860.9 million from $776.4 million, while its segment profit climbed to $154.6 million from $134.9 million. Comparable sales rose 4.5% in Darden's other business and 1% in its fine-dining segment.

Darden's operating income fell to $319.3 million from $339.2 million, and net income declined to $233.4 million from $257.8 million. The company cautioned that items in the prior-year quarter make the net-income comparison difficult. It reiterated its fiscal 2027 expectation for diluted earnings from continuing operations of $11.10 to $11.35 per share.
