Hope Lodge, a “Scottish safari” retreat on a 100,000-acre estate in Sutherland, opened in May 2026 for wildlife viewing. Rooms are available August–October from £1,100 a night; the entire property can be rented year-round for £21,000 nightly.
The retreat has a renovated main cottage and adjacent An Cala cabin, with seven guest rooms. The larger cottage was built in 1867 as a shooting lodge. Wildlife on the estate includes red deer, buzzards, golden eagles and trout.
The lodge is part of Wildlands, the conservation and ecotourism project founded by Anders Holch and Anne Povlsen in 2006. The Povlsens’ land-restoration vision includes replanting native Caledonian pinewoods and restoring damaged peatlands.
