Lisa Rinna said her short, spiky blonde hair and white gown with a breastplate featuring fake nipples paid tribute to Madonna at the 2026 MTV VMAs. Madonna is set to open the show with her first live performance there in 23 years and leads this year’s nominations with 11.
Madonna’s last live VMAs appearance was in 2003, when she opened the show alongside Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera and Missy Elliott. Rinna said her favorite Madonna moment is the singer’s 1990 “Vogue” music video.
Madonna’s 11 nominations include Artist of the Year, Video of the Year for “Confessions II – The Film” and Song of the Year for “Bring Your Love” with Sabrina Carpenter. It is her third time leading the VMAs nominations; she previously led with nine nominations in 1990 and 1998.
