Microsoft Global Affairs President Lisa Monaco said AI lowers the barrier to entry for less capable actors, making phishing and ransomware campaigns more precise, scalable and faster, while helping defenders process vast amounts of information and understand threat actors’ moves.
Speaking on the sidelines of the 81st UN General Assembly, Monaco described digital sovereignty as a risk-management and resilience question. Citing Microsoft’s work with Ukraine, she stressed preparing governments and critical infrastructure to maintain operations during crises.
