Detroit receiver Isaac TeSlaa has six targets and two catches in two games. Coach Scottie Montgomery says the Lions’ offensive depth leaves him fewer chances; he expects defenses to shift toward Amon-Ra St. Brown, which may open chances for TeSlaa against the Jets.
Montgomery described TeSlaa as essentially fifth in line behind Amon-Ra St. Brown, Jameson Williams, Sam LaPorta and Jahmyr Gibbs. He said TeSlaa’s opportunities are likely to come on third downs, fourth downs and in the red zone.
Detroit traded two 2026 third-round picks to move up and select TeSlaa in the 2025 third round. He has 18 career catches for 265 yards and six touchdowns; much of that production came after LaPorta was injured last season. Montgomery praised TeSlaa’s physical blocking and said the Lions could build plays from that run-game work.
