The French Football Federation says Kylian Mbappé injured his left knee while scoring the winning goal and will miss the rest of France’s current international camp with a tendon injury. Further tests at Valdebebas are expected to clarify how long recovery will take.
It is the same knee that troubled Mbappé through much of the 2025-26 season. Real Madrid are expected to issue an injury report over the weekend. Depending on the injury’s extent, a possible absence from the decisive Oct. 25 El Clásico against Barcelona cannot be ruled out.
