Former White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt said on Sean Hannity’s podcast that Donald Trump may listen to women more than men and has “such respect” for them, citing his appointments of women to prominent roles.
Leavitt said Trump appreciated her confrontations with journalists, watched her briefings when he could and was a “great boss.” She cited his appointments of Susie Wiles as chief of staff, Kellyanne Conway as senior counsel and Sarah Huckabee Sanders as press secretary.
Critics on social media challenged her characterization, pointing to Trump’s attacks on female journalists and the 2005 “Access Hollywood” tape, in which he made lewd comments about women.
