Kentucky outscored Youngstown State, Texas A&M and South Alabama 62-20 in the final 30 minutes across its three wins under Will Stein. The total excludes the Alabama game, where the Wildcats gave up 32 unanswered points in the second half.
Kentucky’s second-half scores were 17-6 against Youngstown State, 24-14 at No. 9 Texas A&M and 21-0 against South Alabama. The Wildcats scored 21 points in the third quarter at Texas A&M; against South Alabama, Jason Patterson ran for two touchdowns and Kenny Minchey found Shane Carr for another score.
After the South Alabama win, Stein said he was happy with the victory but told the locker room it was not the standard. He also praised the running backs.
