Ravens center Jovaughn Gwyn’s starting job could be at risk if his pass blocking does not improve, Ebony Bird’s Eamon Cassels writes. Cassels says Sunday’s Dallas game may be one of Gwyn’s last chances to prove he can replace Tyler Linderbaum long term.
Cassels said Gwyn has excelled as a run blocker, citing a PFF grade of 86.3, second in the league, and credited him with helping Derrick Henry make big plays. He also cited a 19.5 pass-blocking grade—the lowest among starting centers—and five pressures allowed.
According to Cassels, Ravens coach Jesse Minter said before the season that starting Gwyn was a Week 1 decision. Baltimore and Dallas are both 1-1; their Week 3 game is in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
