Travis Kelce says stronger unity and chemistry have helped the Kansas City Chiefs open the season with wins over Denver and Indianapolis. He also praised Patrick Mahomes, back after a torn ACL, for getting the ball out on time and helping the offensive line.
Kelce said summer acquisitions—including players and coaches—and a different determination and mindset in the building also contribute to the change. The Chiefs went 6-11 in 2025 and missed the playoffs for the first time in 10 years, after a Super Bowl loss following two consecutive championship seasons.
On Sept. 20, Kelce set the NFL record for most career yards after catch, with 6,288, surpassing Marshall Faulk. He said he had not realized he was near the top of the rankings and called the milestone one of his coolest accomplishments.
