Against Tulane, Kansas State’s defensive ends posted 7.5 tackles for loss and five sacks, while the interior line struggled to stop the run. The review gave the ends and safeties an A but graded the interior line C−, citing missed tackles and gaps Tulane exploited.
Wendell Gregory and Darien Whitaker Jr. were the review’s headliners at defensive end, while Jayden Bryant had two sacks. Inside, Travis Bates played 52 snaps but struggled to shed run blocks and missed two tackles; Kamari Burns also missed two. The review said Tulane found space in the A and B gaps and called for another run-stuffing tackle.
Rex Van Wyhe recorded five tackles in 22 snaps, and the review said he could see more action against run-oriented teams. Safety Wesley Fair led Kansas State with eight tackles after Logan Bartley was injured early. At corner, Zashon Rich yielded three catches for 20 yards; JoJo Scott gave up two for 52, including a 41-yard reception.
