The Braves close the regular season in Miami on Sunday, Sept. 27, at 3:10 p.m. ET, with rookie JR Ritchie starting against Janson Junk. Atlanta’s priority is to finish healthy; a win would be its 95th, and Ritchie is seeking to strengthen his Wild Card roster case.
Ritchie’s previous start against Cincinnati lasted five innings; he allowed four hits and one earned run, walked three and struck out eight. In May, he took the loss against Miami after allowing six runs, five earned, in four innings; Atlanta lost 12-0.
Junk enters at 6-9 with a 4.31 ERA and a 1-2 career record with a 7.62 ERA against Atlanta. His two losses to the Braves came this season: he allowed eight earned runs in five innings in May and two in three innings in August.
