Newcastle midfielder Joelinton thanked former manager Eddie Howe for trusting him and moving him into midfield, but said the club must now move on under Matthias Jaissle. He praised the new coach’s ideas and hopes he can take the team to the next level.
Joelinton had joined Newcastle before Howe became head coach in 2021. He said Howe improved his game and wished him well, calling him a great head coach and a great man.
Howe’s decision to move Joelinton from attack into midfield helped him establish himself as a Brazil international and a key member of Newcastle’s squad. Joelinton has yet to play this season while recovering from a quad injury.
