Buffalo Bills coach Joe Brady has shifted toward passing on early downs, with throws on more than 55% of first- and second-down plays through two games. Josh Allen has led an offense that scored 77 points against Houston and Detroit to open the 2026 season.
Brady has called pass plays on 57.9% of Buffalo’s offensive snaps, compared with 54.1% in Sean McDermott’s final season. Allen’s average depth of target is 10.5 yards, tied for third among quarterbacks and his highest since his 2018 rookie year; he has completed nine passes of at least 20 yards, also tied for third.
Allen became the first player in NFL history to record at least five passing touchdowns and three rushing touchdowns through a season’s first two games. After his Week 2 performance against Detroit, he received his 19th career AFC Offensive Player of the Week honor.
